OPEN TO CLUB MEMBERS ONLY

Join us for an all-inclusive mead-making experience!  Marc Burris will lead participants in an educational class about mead making.  See below for more about Marc.

To make this class as easy as possible, nearly everything will be provided:  the honey, fruit add-ins for flavor, and the yeast.  You only need to provide a container to ferment the mead!  Suitable containers should be clean and hold between 1 and 5 gallons.  More information on requirements for fermentation will be provided to class members.

We will have ingredients for a traditional non-flavored mead, peach, blueberry and apple cider.  Participants will be asked to choose one flavor and have the option to make a traditional as well.

NOTE:  We charge a fee ($15) to hold your spot in the class, but the fee will be refunded to members once they attend the class.

Meet Marc Burris, a passionate mead maker based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Originally hailing from Delaware, Marc has been crafting home brewed meads for over seven years after discovering his love for this ancient beverage. With more than 100 batches under his belt and thousands of bottles proudly aging in his basement, Marc has become an experienced and skilled mead artisan.

By day, Marc is a dedicated state employee, but when the clock strikes five, he transforms into a hobby of being a mead maker. His journey began after discovering the rich history behind this honey-based fermented drink, which dates to ancient civilizations. Driven by his curiosity and creativity, Marc has since honed his skills and knowledge in mead making, consistently producing high-quality and unique batches that have garnered rave reviews from fellow locals.

In his humble Raleigh home, Marc’s basement serves as his mead sanctuary – a place where the aroma of honey, spices, and fermentation fills the air. As he continues to perfect his craft and explore innovative flavor combinations, Marc’s dedication to his passion project is evident in each delicious bottle that emerges from his basement workshop.
