Outreach

The Wake County Beekeepers Associations has a strong tradition of educational outreach to the local community. Several members volunteer to share their love of beekeeping. We get a large volume of requests for speakers throughout the year.  We do our best to find a volunteer who matches each request but we aren’t always successful.

If your group or civic organization would like to request a speaker for an event, email education@wakecountybeeekeepers.org.  If someone is available for your event, they will contact you directly.

If you are looking for a field trip event, consider a visit to one of the following:

  • NC Zoo's bee exhibit (excellent!  Staffed by beekeeper volunteers)
  • NC Museum of Natural History in Raleigh (excellent indoor observation hive & story room)
  • NC Arboretum (seasonal, paid programs)
  • Duke Gardens (seasonal, paid programs)

WCBA Members - If you are interested in joining the speaker list, contact  the WCBA Outreach Coordinator.
