Help spread the word about bees and beekeeping at Raleigh Arbor Day at Dorothea Dix Park. We will host a booth with plenty of fun for the whole family. To volunteer for this event, complete the registration form with your info and how many from your household will be attending. If you have any beekeeping items you'd like to display, please contact Chris Hagwood and let him know.
The club will provide an event tent, banners, some educational material, and a child-friendly game to set up. Please provide your own chair and arrive by 4pm in order to park and help set up.

Sign up to help with an indoor display table at Marble's Museum's Earth Day event. Samia Touati is our club's coordinator for this event. We have club educational materials to share for this event, plus any beekeeping material you can bring from your own collection.
2 or 3 additional volunteers will be sufficient!

Bring your veil, hive tool and smoker! Grab a friend and come play with some bees!!
WHAT: Watch and participate as Mr. Buzz Ben Crawley inspects real hives with real bees. Questions from the crowd are encouraged!
WHERE: The hives are located near the cotton field at Historic Oak View
WHEN: This event usually takes place on the 3rd Sunday from March-September. The event is weather dependent and may be moved for other conflicts.
The practical exam for the NCSBA Certified Beekeeper program are also given at each Hands on the Hive event, no appointment necessary. Please make sure the instructor knows you are there to take the test at the beginning of the meeting. For the practical part you must bring your own equipment including a smoker, veil, suit and hive tool. The form with the criteria for the practical exam can be found on the state website.

Sign up to help with a club booth at the Pollinator Festival at Lake Crabtree County Park. Robert King is the event coordinator. The club will provide an event canopy/tent and materials to display. Volunteers can bring samples of their own beekeeping gear or additional educational material.
